IAMI recently introduced the Certified Train the Trainer course. The purpose of this block of instruction is to provide a pre-packaged lesson plan for law enforcement officers who are tasked with providing "Marine Identification/ theft " training for In-Service Training or to other law enforcement personnel who may not have a strong background in marine investigations. The course is designed to provide the officer with text, PowerPoint slides and handouts so that the officer will have all the tools to deliver the information. In addition, this course will give the officer some tips for delivery and instructor techniques.
We hold this course during the ATS each year and ar looking to add this as a webinar in the near future.
To maintain certification, the instructor must teach the class at least once a year and recert every two years.
