IAMI Membership
- Law Enforcement Membership - Open to those representatives of municipal, county, state, federal, national, or international law enforcement agencies who are full time salaried employees with peace officer powers or are engaged in intelligence gathering, United States. Coast Guard officials, special agents of the National Insurance Crime Bureau, and administrative officials of vessel registering or titling authorities are also eligible.
- Non-Law Enforcement Membership - Open to those persons not covered by Law Enforcement Membership, such as private marine investigators, insurance investigators, and marine industry representatives. It also includes part time, reserve, auxiliary, or retired law enforcement officers. New Applicants shall be sponsored by a member in good standing and approved by the membership committee.
- Law Enforcement Agency Membership - Non-voting membership available to parent agencies of those memberships defined under Law Enforcement Memberships.

The International Association of Marine Investigators offers a variety of memberships to persons interested in the objectives of the Association.
All members receive a free subscription to Exchange for Marine Professionals. This quarterly newsletter, published by Boat US, includes IAMI News, which is dedicated to Association news, articles, summaries of successful investigations, correspondence, and information on upcoming training seminars.
Members are eligible to compete for the Investigator of the Year Award that is sponsored by Boat US. This program recognizes one law enforcement and one non-law enforcement person annually for outstanding achievement in the area of marine theft/fraud investigation. |
