Membership

  • Law Enforcement Membership - Open to those representatives of municipal, county, state, federal, national, or international law enforcement agencies who are full time salaried employees with peace officer powers or are engaged in intelligence gathering, United States. Coast Guard officials, special agents of the National Insurance Crime Bureau, and administrative officials of vessel registering or titling authorities are also eligible.
  • Non-Law Enforcement Membership - Open to those persons not covered by Law Enforcement Membership, such as private marine investigators, insurance investigators, and marine industry representatives. It also includes part time, reserve, auxiliary, or retired law enforcement officers. New Applicants shall be sponsored by a member in good standing and approved by the membership committee.
  • Law Enforcement Agency Membership - Non-voting membership available to parent agencies of those memberships defined under Law Enforcement Memberships. It also provides the agency to receive one (1) free registration for the training seminar for every four (4) paid registration fees. 

    NEW - Non Law Enforcement Corporate Membership - Non-voting membership available to Corporate organizations that wish to support IAMI. (added 2/22/2012)

IAMI, The International Association of Marine Investigators, offers a variety of memberships to persons interested in the objectives of the Association.

IAMI Newsletter - an electronic version called The Review is now being produced through the generosity of Datatag Inc. in conjunction with the BoatUS Editor and others.  Formerly The Exchange was produced, printed and distributed solely by BoatUS.

Members who submit their success stories are still eligible to compete for the Investigator of the Year Award  sponsored by BoatUS. This program recognizes one law enforcement and one non-law enforcement person annually for outstanding achievement in the area of marine theft/fraud investigation.

IAMI's Certified Marine Investigator: Program, Application, Payment and Study Guide (IAMI Marine Investigation Manual) are all available to the Member in 'Members Only.'
